Hamburg's Imtech-Arena Tests App That Allows Fans To Order Beverages From Their Seats

The Imtech-Arena, home of Bundesliga club Hamburg SV, "will start testing a new smartphone app on Saturday with which fans can order beverages," according to the AUGSBURGER ALLGEMEINE. All fans who own an Android phone or iPhone can download the free app called "opentabs," check in at the arena and start ordering. On its website, opentabs explained that beverage delivery "will not take place during halftime as its staff is too busy serving orders at the stadium kiosks." However, the order "will be delivered immediately after the halftime." Official Imtech-Arena caterer ARAMARK "will try out the new service in two sections of the stadium, 18B and 18C, starting on Saturday until the end of March." Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) clubs Fraport Skyliners and Brose Baskets Bamberg have been using the app since last season (AUGSBURGER ALLGEMEINE, 1/27).
