NBC Makes Scottish Open First European Tour Event To Air Live On U.S. TV

The '13 and '14 editions of the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open will be broadcast on NBC, making them the first regular European Tour events to be shown live on a U.S. TV network. NBC will complement the existing coverage on the Golf Channel. NBC will broadcast two-and-a-half hours of live coverage on each of the final two days from Castle Stuart Golf Links in '13 and Royal Aberdeen Golf Club in '14. Previously, only Major Championships, World Golf Championships and leading team events connected to the European Tour have been shown live on American broadcast networks. As part of the new arrangement, sponsors Aberdeen Asset Management and the Scottish government will advertise during the broadcast (European Tour).
