Cricket Kenya on Sunday "unanimously elected ZEHRA JANMOHAMMED" as its chairwoman, the first woman to head a national cricket board. Janmohammed, a Nairobi-based lawyer, who previously served as a legal adviser to the former Kenya Cricket Association, "was elected unopposed to replace the incumbent SAMIR INAMDAR," who has served for the last seven years (AFP, 12/2). ... The Jockey Club, the largest commercial group in British horseracing, appointed TOM MANNERS as group brand development director effective Tuesday. Manners will be responsible for the development and marketing of The Jockey Club brand and generating commercial revenues, such as through partnerships and licensing arrangements. He will report to Group Managing Dir of Jockey Club Racecourses PAUL FISHER (The Jockey Club).

MANAGERS/COACHES: La Liga Valencia FC has sacked coach MAURICIO PELLEGRINO after its 5-2 home defeat by Real Sociedad left them 12th in the domestic standings. Pellegrino, a former Valencia defender, was appointed in May to replace UNAI EMERY (UEFA).
