Two World Cup Stadiums Scheduled To Be Completed Next Month
The Arena Castelão in Fortaleza, Brazil is now 93% finished and 30 days from its reopening, according to PORTAL 2014. The stadium was under renovation for "almost 20 months." The conclusion of the works is scheduled for Dec. 19, with President Dilma Rousseff making an appearance. Five months later, the Castelão will be the site of three Confederations Cup matches. During the World Cup in '14, the arena will host six matches (PORTAL 2014, 11/19).
MORE GOOD NEWS: PORTAL 2014 also reported that the Mineirão stadium in Belo Horizonte, Brazil has also reached the 93% mark. Last week, the LED TV panels were installed throughout the arena. The stadium will open Dec. 21, two days after the Castelão. The arena will also host three Confederations Cup matches this summer and six World Cup games in '14 (PORTAL 2014, 11/21).
