Olympic Notes: Madrid Has Highest Public Support For 2020 Games

The latest figures released by the Tokyo 2020 Olympic bid committee revealed that "Madrid has the highest public support for its 2020 Summer Olympics bid." Madrid's public support stands at 80.7%, Istanbul's is at 73% and Tokyo's 67% (JAPAN TIMES, 11/7). ... Int'l Bobsleigh and Tobogganing Federation (FIBT) President Ivo Ferriani and head of the FIBT track committee Giacomo Dariz spent several days inspecting the Sanki Sliding Centre before "confirming that the track complies with the necessary guidelines." The track will host the finals of the bob and skeleton World Cup tour in February next year before the Olympic Games arrive at the southern Russian facility a year later (EUROSPORT, 11/7).
