BBL Club Bayern Munich Wants To Move To Bigger Arena In Near Future

Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) club Bayern Munich "wants to move to a bigger arena in the foreseeable future," according to the SID. Club Managing Dir Thomas Oehler said, "In the near future we want to call an arena with about 10,000 seats our home." Currently, "a move is not an acute issue for the BBL club." Oehler said, "For the next three years the Audi Dome has to be enough." The Audi Dome, formerly known as Rudi-Sedlmayer-Halle, hosted the Olympic basketball tournament in '72 and has a capacity of 6,700. In addition, Oehler said that the club "generated almost 23% of its revenue through ticket sales." Bayern Munich also has the highest player payroll in the BBL with €9M ($11.5M) (SID, 11/6).
