Facilities Notes: Lyon Chair Says Stadium Will Be Ready For Euro 2016

Ligue 1 Lyon Chair Jean-Michel Aulas said that he believed the club's new stadium, scheduled to be ready a year ahead of Euro 2016 in France, "would be delivered on time for the city to stage some matches." Amid media reports of "legal negotiations and the insertion of penalty clauses" should the start of construction on the stadium be delayed, Aulas "insisted that the project was on track" in terms of finalizing the structural concept and finance (AFP, 10/9). ... Navi Mumbai's DY Patil Stadium, which has hosted two Indian Premier League finals in the past, will be hosting its first "first class cricket match" when Mumbai takes on West Zone rivals Gujarat in their final Ranji Trophy Group A fixture at the end of this year. The Dec. 29 to Jan. 1 Ranji tie between the two sides could not be held at the Wankhede Stadium as "some other event has already been scheduled at the venue" during that time (PTI, 10/7).
