Gary Player Design continued its expansion in India with the signing of the Glade One Golf Course in Ahmedabad, India. Indian real estate development company bSafal selected the Player Design brand for the project. The company will be developing the project on the outskirts of Ahmedabad, the fifth largest city in the country that sits on the banks of the Sabarmati River. By choosing Gary Player Design, bSafal "aims to establish a new standard of resort living in India and is positioning Glade One to set a benchmark in the luxury segment of the real estate industry there." In addition to golf, Glade One will offer a boutique 5-star resort, world class spa facilities and 350 luxury residential villas. Recently named the fastest-growing city in India by Forbes, Ahmedabad boasts a "prospering economy that has seen an influx of interest in the game of golf." The increased interest has made Gary Player "a strong believer that India and Asia are the future of game" (GOLFBUSINESSCOMMUNITY.com, 9/4).
