Dubai Sheikh Requests More Seats, Air Conditioning For Al Wasl Stadium

Al Wasl FC Owner Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum has ordered a construction project to increase the capacity of Al Wasl sports stadium to 25,000, according to the WAM. The plan includes developing "the facilities of the stadium," including making it the first air-conditioned venue in the UAE. The Dubai Sports Council has been given the responsibility of coordinating with Al Wasl "to ensure the completion of the project." Following its completion, "similar projects will be launched for the stadiums of other sports clubs in Dubai" (WAM, 8/28).
