Italian Serie A club AC Milan acquired striker GIAMPAOLO PAZZINI from city rival Inter Milan, which gets in return striker ANTONIO CASSANO plus a transfer fee of €2M ($2.5M). The 30-year-old Cassano signed a three-year deal with Inter worth €3M ($3.8M) annually (KURIER, 8/22). ... German 2nd Bundesliga club FC Kaiserslautern acquired free-agent striker ALEXANDER BAUMJOHANN. The 25-year-old Baumjohann, who played for Bundesliga club Schalke 04 last seasson, signed a one-year deal (SÜDDEUTSCHE ZEITUNG, 8/22). ... ManU striker DANNY WELBECK signed a new four-year contract with the Premier League club. The 21-year-old Welbeck has been rewarded for his impressive performances over the last 18 months, which made him a key figure for both ManU and England (AFP, 8/22). ... Brazilian club Flamengo has agreed to a performance-based contract with former Brazilian national team striker ADRIANO until the end of the year (GLOBO, 8/22).
