Australia's ABC Gets Exclusive Rights To The Paralympics

Australia's ABC will have exclusive coverage of the London Paralympics on ABC1 and ABC2 as well as online on iView, according to Amanda Meade of THE AUSTRALIAN. A highlights package hosted by the ABC’s Stephanie Brantz will be "screened in prime time on ABC1 each day of the 11 days of competition" beginning Aug. 30. The Opening Ceremony on Aug. 30 and Closing Ceremony on Sept. 10, featuring British band Coldplay, will both be screened live on ABC1 and hosted by comedian Adam Hills and Brantz. Australian commentators include sports reporters Amanda Shalala, Clint Wheeldon, Gerry Collins (swimming), Peter Wilkins (cycling and wheelchair rugby), Quentin Hull (athletics), Peter Walsh (wheelchair basketball) and Darren Boyd (THE AUSTRALIAN, 8/21).
