The BBC Dir of London 2012 ROGER MOSEY has been appointed acting Dir of BBC Vision, "one of the corporation's most powerful roles." Mosey's move was announced by outgoing Dir General MARK THOMPSON. Mosey, a former head of BBC Sport, controller of Radio 5 Live and editor of Today, will fill the post vacated by GEORGE ENTWISTLE, who will succeed Thompson as Dir General (London GUARDIAN, 8/6). ... Basketball Australia has appointed sports administrator and former CEO SCOTT DERWIN as its new Chair of the board. Derwin will begin his new role on Aug. 16, replacing acting Chair JUSTIN MILNE, who will resume his position as Chair of the National Basketball League Commission and non-Exec Dir of BA (BA). ... Australian Football League Port Adelaide President BRETT DUNCANSON resigned just a day after the club sacked its coach "following the embarrassing loss" to Greater Western Sydney. Port CEO KEITH THOMAS said that the "tumultuous events of the past few days," along with the coach's dismissal, were merely a "bump in the road" (THE AUSTRALIAN, 8/7).
