German Pay-TV Channel Sportdigital Acquires Scottish Premier League TV Rights

German pay-TV channel sportdigital "secured the broadcast rights for the Scottish Premiere League," according to KLAMM.de. The channel's "shopping spree continues" after it already acquired the broadcast rights for the South American Copa Libertadores in January. Sportdigital started its '12-13 SPL broadcast on Aug. 4 with the match-up between defending champion Celtic Glasgow and Aberdeen FC. This new deal perfectly fits the channel's slogan of "Football around the world." Besides the SPL, sportdigital also shows the top flights of Poland, the Netherlands, Russia and Italy (KLAMM.de, 8/3).
