German Hockey Club Hamburg Freezers Increase Prices For Top Tickets

Fans of German Hockey League club Hamburg Freezers "have to dig deeper into their pockets" due to additional ticket fees this upcoming DEL season, according to the HAMBURGER ABENDBLATT. The Hamburg Freezers, owned by AEG, will charge an additional fee for top games for the first time in their history. Individual tickets against current DEL champion Eisbären Berlin and runner-up Adler Mannheim will cost an additional €6 ($7.40). Freezers Exec Dir Michael Pfad said, "The revenue potential of hockey in regards to TV money is downright pathetic in comparison to football. If we want to provide top hockey in Hamburg, we have to be flexible in our pricing on the one side, and on the other side charge those who watch a game every once in a while" (HAMBURGER ABENDBLATT, 7/19).
