The Int'l Cycling Union sent auditors to the Luxemburg headquarters of team Radioshack-Nissan. The auditors inspected the team's financial situation after several accusations of late payments. Team spokesperson Philippe Maertens said, "They were looking for reasons and they found them. However, the reasons are of private nature" (LAOLA1.at, 7/2).
ASIAN MEET: In Dubai, Alaric Gomes reported the ninth Asian Swimming Championships 2012 in Dubai "has firmed up the programme for the competition," which will be held at the Hamdan Bin Mohammad Sports Complex from Nov. 15-25. The competition will begin with swimming from Nov. 15-18, followed by synchronised swimming during the same time. Next the water polo event will take place from Nov. 19-25, finishing with the diving competition from Nov. 22-25 (GULF NEWS, 6/29).
