South African golfer DYLAN FRITTELLI signed with IMG and will make his professional debut this week at the BMW Int'l in Cologne, Germany. IMG London Exec DUNCAN REID will manage Frittelli with assistance from ROBYN COX and JACQUES RETIEF of IMG South Africa and BEN WALTER in the U.S. (IMG). ... Contrary to reports, the Al Wasl FC Manager DIEGO MARADONA will not be given an advisory role at the club to make way for former Al-Gharafa FC Manager BRUNO METSU as coach, the club has confirmed. Al Wasl Chair MOHAMMAD BIN FAHAD said, "Maradona is continuing. There is no change in his position. Up to now -- and there is no further information [on the matter] -- Maradona will be the coach of Al Wasl next season" (GULF NEWS, 6/19). ... Great Britain's 2008 Olympic Games 400m hurdles bronze medalist TASHA DANVERS announced her retirement from the sport on Sunday. Danvers is also a member of the European Athletics Athletes' Commission (European Athletics). ... NCAA 5,000m and 10,000m champion CAM LEVINS has signed a professional sponsorship deal with Nike (RUNNERSWEB.com, 6/17).
