POSTING UP: The PA reported that Premier League Newcastle influential chief scout Graham Carr signed an eight-year contract "to keep him with the club" until age 75. Carr identified much of the talent in Newcastle Manager Alan Pardew's team that finished fifth in the league, "defying expectations of a season of struggle" at St. James' Park (PA, 6/7).
