The Curse Is Gone: Fans Swarm Chicago For Annual Cubs Convention

Friday marked the official start of the Cubs Convention, and fans "charged through the main ballroom doors of the Sheraton Grand Chicago" more than two hours before the event's start. During the opening ceremony, cheers "could be heard through the multiple levels of the hotel as each player was being introduced, with a crescendo of appreciation rendered after recently retired David Ross -- the last player introduced -- brought the championship trophy on stage" (CHICAGO TRIBUNE, 1/14). 

The Commissioner's Trophy is on display at the Cubs Convention, the "latest stop on the award's regional post-Series tour before it winds up in the team's new offices, in the building now under construction next to Wrigley Field" (CHICAGO TRIBUNE, 1/13). The Cubs will visit the White House tomorrow (Mult., 1/13).
