World Series Game 5 Ticket Resale Prices At Wrigley Fall Dramatically

Ticket resale prices for tonight’s World Series Game 5 at Wrigley Field plummeted following the Indians’ surprising victories Friday and Saturday to take a commanding 3-1 Series lead. Minimum listings last night following the Indians’ Game 4 victory fell below $700 per ticket, less than half of minimum prices earlier yesterday. Resale prices had already fallen by more than 30% prior to last night’s game after the Cubs’ Game 3 loss on Friday eliminated the possibility of clinching the World Series at home. StubHub, meanwhile, relaxed its rules around Wrigley Field games, and allowed resales up until gametime. The marketplace typically shuts down activity around Cubs home games six hours before game starts, and did so prior to Game 3 on Friday. The six-hour cutoff stems from a ’13 agreement between StubHub and the club.
