Scoreboard Fire Delays MLS DC United-Crew Game In Columbus

A malfunctioning speaker system at Columbus Crew Stadium was "believed to have sparked" a scoreboard fire that began last night at 7:05pm ET, and delayed the start of the MLS Crew's match against DC United (DISPATCH.com, 4/28). The blaze "required two ladder trucks to contain and delayed the start of the MLS match by 50 minutes." It began "in the speaker system at the top of the primary scoreboard" about 30 minutes prior to kickoff (WASHINGTONPOST.com, 4/27).
