Stern "Stunned" His Stepping Down Not Leaked To The Media

In an interview with the WALL STREET JOURNAL, NBA Commissioner David Stern said he was “surprised” the announcement of his stepping down on Thursday did not leak to the media. Stern: “I was stunned that after having the discussion in a room with the owners on Wednesday afternoon that it did not leak overnight.” But Stern said not releasing the news “was in line with a very strong request that I had made (to the owners)” (WALL STREET JOURNAL, 10/27).
