BBWAA Names Susan Slusser Its First Woman President

The S.F. Chronicle's Susan Slusser was named "the first woman president" in the history of the Baseball Writers' Association of America. Slusser was elected Saturday at the BBWAA's World Series meeting. The Minneapolis Star Tribune's LaVelle E. Neal III was elected vice president, "meaning he will be the president next year, making him the first African-American president in the organization's history" (CBSSPORTS.com, 10/27).
