NHL, NHLPA Back At Table, Urge Each Other To Present New Proposal

The NHL and NHLPA “met Friday at the union offices in Toronto" and sources said that at the meeting the NHL “strongly urged the NHLPA to come up with a new proposal.” The sources also said that the NHLPA “asked the league to come up with a new proposal.” NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly and NHLPA Special Counsel Steve Fehr spoke Saturday and will talk again today to “finalize the schedule for talks next week” (ESPN.com, 10/6).
