Eagles Fans Invade MetLife Stadium; Redskins Host Low Key Crowd

The Eagles' 34-29 win over the Giants yesterday at MetLife Stadium saw "thousands of Eagles fans filling the seats," making it "sound like a game at Lincoln Financial Field." When the Giants had the ball, "loud chants of 'De-fense … de-fense' cascaded down to the field" (N.Y. POST, 12/18). MetLife was "made to feel like home sweet home for the Eagles," as the "E-A-G-L-E-S, Eagles, Eagles, Eagles, chant rocked the house" (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 12/18).

Meanwhile, the announced paid attendance for Cardinals-Redskins yesterday at FedExField was 71,026, but Owner Dan Snyder was "lucky if half that many people were in the place." There were "times when crickets would’ve made more noise." There were also reports that midfield seats "could be had for less than $20 on StubHub." The Redskins won 17-12 (WASHINGTON TIMES, 12/18).
