Grant Thornton Ups Golf Spend With PGA Tour, Rickie Fowler Deals

Chicago-based accounting services firm Grant Thornton is deepening its investment in golf with a five-year official marketing partnership with the PGA Tour and a separate endorsement deal with Rickie Fowler. Both deals begin in January. The agreement with the Tour includes a five-year, “proud partner” sponsorship of The Players Championship, replacing PwC as a top-tier sponsor of the event. The company’s deal with Fowler is its first player endorsement deal. Fowler will wear the Grant Thornton logo on the right chest of his golf shirt and will be included in the company’s national advertising. The company's golf spend previously was limited to hospitality at the PGA Championship and Ryder Cup.
