Laugh Track: Meet The Press

Astros P Justin Verlander appeared on TBS’ “Conan” last night where he talked with host Conan O’Brien about his marriage to model Kate Upton, being traded from the Tigers and winning the World Series. O’Brien said, “You have had one of the most amazing months that a human being can have. You win the World Series, and then right after winning Game 7 of the World Series, you fly to Italy to marry Kate Upton. I'm just very curious. How do you match that? What's next month going to be like?” Verlander joked, “Downhill.” Verlander said of winning a World Series for Houston after Hurricane Harvey, “The airport was still closed the day after the trade, so to be able to come in and experience how that city rallied around us as a team and really, for us to be able to give people that were going through a hard time something to cheer for and a reprieve from whatever they were struggling with at the time, I felt a real connection with them and I felt it back” (“Conan,” TBS, 11/29).

NBC’s Jimmy Fallon said of "Monday Night Football" this week, “Last night, the Houston Texans had a tough loss to the Baltimore Ravens, and the Texans quarterback, Tom Savage, decided to keep things pretty brief at his press conference.” After showing a quick clip of Savage arriving and leaving the podium within five seconds, Fallon said, “In related news, he was just named Trump's new press secretary. ‘No questions? We good’” (“The Tonight Show,” NBC, 11/28).
