USL club FC Cincinnati fell to the Red Bulls in last night's U.S. Open Cup semifinal, but the scenes at Nippert Stadium are "what will endure." The "sold out 'blue-out' crowd of 33,250" marked the "second-largest attendance in FC Cincinnati history." Red Bulls players lingered on the field after their win to "offer sincere applause to the FC Cincinnati supporters." Red Bulls G Ryan Meara said, "They deserve an MLS team -- 100 percent. To get a showing like this -- incredible. ... There's more than half of MLS cities that don't have support like this." MLS Commissioner Don Garber and U.S. Soccer President Sunil Gulati attended the match (CINCINNATI ENQUIRER, 8/16).
