Bruin Sports Capital's Deltatre Partners With FINA On OTT Platform

Bruin Sports Capital-owned media company Deltatre has struck a long-term partnership with the Int’l Swimming Federation (FINA) to create a new OTT video service, FINAtv. The offering will show live and on-demand coverage of FINA’s key competitions – beginning with the FINA World Championships starting this weekend in Budapest – plus other FINA-sanctioned events for diving and water polo, among others. FINAtv will be available on mobile and TV platforms and via AirPlay and Chromecast.

Pricing will vary based on individual country, but in the U.S., FINAtv will initially cost $39.99. Following the completion of the FINA World Championships, a monthly pass of $7.99 will also be offered. Digital coverage of the World Championships themselves will be geoblocked in the U.S., and instead be carried domestically by NBCSports.com, OlympicChannel.com, and the NBC Sports mobile app. FINA President Julio Maglione called the creation of FINAtv “a gateway for the sport to cultivate a new generation of fans.” For Deltatre, the deal follows recent agreements with the NFL to help NFL Game Pass in Europe and with Fox Sports to rebuild its OTT offerings for soccer and rugby.
