Former Team Exec Mike Dee Hired As Entercom Sports President

Entercom Communications hired former Padres President & CEO Mike Dee as President of Entercom Sports, with a formal announcement expected later today. Dee will work out of Philadelphia and report to President & CEO David Field. Earlier this year, Entercom agreed to pay $3.0B for CBS Radio, a deal that is expected to close in the second half of this year. The hire gives Dee oversight over radio stations like Boston's WEEI-AM and WBZ-FM, N.Y.’s WFAN-AM and DC’s WJFK-FM. Entercom says Dee will focus on bringing in revenue, developing direct-to-consumer offerings and finding new platform opportunities. He parted ways with the Padres after the '16 season following a three-year run with the team. He previously had positions as Red Sox COO and Dolphins President & CEO.
