Tanduay Rum To Sponsor Nets, Barclays Center In Multiyear Deal

Tanduay is now the official rum of both the Nets and Barclays Center under a new multiyear deal. The rum, produced in the Philippines, will be presenting sponsor of the arena’s 40/40 Club & Restaurant, last sponsored by AmEx. It also will entitle a suite-level bar and receive camera-visible signage during Nets games. A launch event with well-known DJs will follow the March 12 home game against the Knicks.

“Tanduay is just now becoming available in the New York market, so we're excited that they are using us as a launch vehicle,’’ said Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment Exec VP/Global Partnerships Mike Zavodsky. When the Barclays Center opened in '12, Stolichnaya was a founding partner and had exclusivity in the spirits category. Stoli now has dropped down to a non-exclusive deal, and the Nets are expected to bring on a few more spirit brands as sponsors.
