House Subcommittee To Address Doping In International Sport

A U.S. House subcommittee today will conduct a hearing "focused on strengthening antidoping controls in international sports" ahead of the '18 PyeongChang Games (N.Y. TIMES, 2/22). USADA CEO Travis Tygart is scheduled to address the Russian doping scandal and "ways in which the global sports system could be improved." Also due to testify are Michael Phelps, U.S. shot putter Adam Nelson and officials from both the IOC and WADA (N.Y. TIMES, 2/28). The hearing is being run by the Subcommittee on Oversight & Investigations, "part of the Committee on Energy and Commerce" (Baltimore SUN, 2/24).
