Laugh Track: Mohr Horsepower

In his opening monologue for the “NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Awards,” comedian Jay Mohr said the event was known to NASCAR drivers as the “annual Jimmie Johnson Las Vegas hoedown.” Mohr on retired driver Jeff Gordon: “Jeff hosted ‘Saturday Night Live.’ I was on ‘Saturday Night Live’ for three years and he was in more sketches than me.” Mohr: “I saw Chase Elliott backstage. I owe him an apology. I didn’t say 'hi' because I thought he was Fred Savage from ‘The Wonder Years.’ … You might want to test this kid (Joey Logano). He’s like six inches taller than he was last year." Mohr noted at the season-ending race at Homestead-Miami Speedway, "Everybody gave Tony Stewart their helmets. ... He needs that, because he’s broken all of his own helmets” (“NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Awards,” NBCSN, 12/2).
