Morning Hot Reads: Ten Cup

GOLF DIGEST's Brian Wacker notes a decade into its inception, the PGA Tour's FedExCup Playoffs are becoming "more meaningful with each passing year." Over the years, the system "has been refined." Winning a FedExCup title "might never mean as much" as a major or perhaps even an Olympic medal, "but that's OK."

USA TODAY's Erik Brady examines the "real history of Native American team names." The Boston Braves "adopted their team name" in 1912, while MLB's Indians "took theirs in 1915." Later, "scores of high schools and colleges across the country assumed these and other Indian team names" in the '20s and '30s. But Native Americans "did not object as these team names multiplied -- partly because they were in no position to object."
