Baylor AD Ian McCaw Steps Down As Scandal Fallout Continues

Baylor Univ. AD Ian McCaw resigned yesterday, effective immediately, amid the ongoing fallout from the school's sexual assault scandal. In a statement, McCaw said that a change in leadership is in Baylor's "best interest in order to promote the unity, healing and restoration that must occur." This comes several days after football coach Art Briles was fired "pending contractual details being worked out," and hours after McCaw named Jim Grobe Baylor's interim football coach (WACO TRIBUNE-HERALD, 5/31).

Meanwhile, Univ. of Texas men's AD Mike Perrin "still lacks an employment contract" more than eight months after "taking over one of the nation's largest college sports programs." According to UT, "there are no plans to give him one" (SAN ANTONIO EXPRESS-NEWS, 5/31).
