MLB Launching Baseball HOF Tour At "Field Of Dreams" Site

MLB today will announce plans for the Baseball HOF Tour, a traveling, multimedia exhibition developed over the past two years by a partnership involving the HOF, MLBAM, IMAX Corp., CAA, United Talent Agency and Red Sox Chair Tom Werner. The exhibit will include an original IMAX film on the past, present and future of baseball, as well as an array of multimedia experiences showcasing the sport’s history and artifacts. Today's press conference is being held in Dyersville, Iowa, at the film site of “Field Of Dreams,” which is now being targeted for a youth baseball complex after many years of legal disputes.

Rob Manfred will lead the event, marking the first time a sitting MLB commissioner has visited the famed movie location. Today’s festivities will include a town hall with Manfred and fans. It also will feature Fox Sports' John Smoltz and MLB Network's Greg Amsinger, plus a virtual reality experience powered by Jaunt. Others slated to attend the event are MLB President of Business & Media Bob Bowman, “Field of Dreams” site owner Denise Stillman and Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad.
