MLBAM Will Sell Disc Version Of Latest "RBI Baseball" Video Game

MLBAM for the first time will produce a physical version of “RBI Baseball,” the revival of the classic late '80s/early '90s video game franchise now in its third year. The first two seasons of the “RBI Baseball” reboot were sold strictly as a digital download on gaming consoles and mobile platforms. But “RBI Baseball 16” also will be sold for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 at major retailers in the U.S. and Canada.

The digital version will be released March 29, with the physical disc version to be available on April 5. The $19.99 price for the console version and $4.99 mobile version is static for the third straight year. “RBI Baseball 16” also will be sold in Europe for the first time as a digital download, more than doubling the game’s global distribution. The game will feature Red Sox CF Mookie Betts on the U.S. cover and Blue Jays P Marcus Stroman on the cover for copies sold in Canada.
