NBA Using Facebook Live To Stream All-Star Weekend Events

The NBA during this weekend’s All-Star events in Toronto will use Facebook Live to stream a variety of press conferences and events, extending a collaboration for Facebook’s live streaming platform that began during the '14 Finals. Content that will be available on Facebook Live will include NBA Commissioner Adam Silver’s state of the league press conference tomorrow, plus pre- and post-event interviews with players around tonight’s Rising Stars Challenge, tomorrow’s All-Star Saturday Night, and Sunday’s All-Star Game. Facebook additionally will be present at All-Star Media Day to capture behind-the-scenes content.

Meanwhile, the league also has collaborated with Twitter to create a series of emojis for every player involved in the All-Star Game, along with ones for the Turner Sports broadcasting crew. Fan voting for the All-Star Game MVP will be conducted exclusively through Twitter, with the specific hashtags for each player triggering the emojis.
