Hyundai Wins USA Today Ad Meter; Funny Spots Dominate

Hyundai's pregame spot featuring Kevin Hart won the USA TODAY Super Bowl Ad Meter and epitomized the theme of this year's efforts: "Make 'em laugh." The spot depicted a dad, played by Hart, who "hands the keys of his new Hyundai Genesis to a young man who is taking his daughter on a date." Hart uses the car's tracking feature to "keep tabs" on the young couple. The second-place winner was a "wacky Heinz ad that featured dachshunds that donned hot-dog bun outfits" and were embraced by people "dressed as mustard and ketchup." The "winning streak ended" for A-B InBev, which had won the Ad Meter the last three years in a row and 14 times overall (USA TODAY, 2/8).
