NextVR To Show Coverage Of Int'l Champions Cup In Virtual Reality

Virtual reality outfit NextVR has signed an exclusive partnership to show live coverage of the annual Int’l Champions Cup in the emerging format. The deal between California-based NextVR and the ICC, presented by RSE Ventures outfit Relevent Sports, builds upon a virtual reality test the group did during a Manchester United-FC Barcelona ICC match in July at Levi’s Stadium and represents the first full planned broadcasts of live virtual reality programming of an entire multi-event tournament.

The full tournament coverage in virtual reality also expands upon a live Pelicans-Warriors game NextVR did in October. “This is exactly the type of live sports programming we are developing for virtual reality,” said NextVR Exec Chair Brad Allen. “Virtual reality is redefining what the best seat is, as we will provide access to places fans could never experience.”
