Decision Expected Today On Where LSU-South Carolina Will Be Played

A final decision is expected by noon CT on whether to keep Saturday's LSU-South Carolina football game at Williams-Brice Stadium, as scheduled, "or move it to LSU's Tiger Stadium." A source said that the "first preference is to keep the game in Columbia, followed by playing the game at a neutral site, with the final alternative" to move the game to Baton Rouge. Options for playing in Atlanta, Charlotte or Jacksonville "apparently have been discarded." LSU SID Michael Bonnette said, "If we're asked to host this game in the next 24 hours, it's something we can certainly do" (THEADVOCATE.com, 10/6).

South Carolina officials "reached out to the Panthers about the possibility of moving" Saturday’s game to Bank of America Stadium. The Panthers "don’t play at home again until Oct. 25." But there are "obstacles to moving the game to Charlotte, including a scarcity of hotel rooms in the area because of the NASCAR Sprint Cup race Saturday at Charlotte Motor Speedway." Also, the Panthers "recently re-seeded the stadium grass" (CHARLOTTEOBSERVER.com, 10/6).
