Dale Jr. Foundation Holds Driven To Give Event In Charlotte

The Dale Jr. Foundation last night in Charlotte held its annual Driven to Give event together with Nationwide Insurance – the sponsor of Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s No. 88 Chevrolet in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. The gathering, now in its fifth year, featured silent and live auctions plus raffle prizes, and was hosted by NBC Sports NASCAR analyst Steve Letarte. It is held to highlight year-long fundraising efforts by the foundation, which also includes the Win Dale Jr.’s Ride Raffle and the Driven to Give Gloves eBay auction, and was held before numerous industry executives including Hendrick Motorsports Owner Rick Hendrick and SMI CEO Marcus Smith.

"Nationwide is proud to support the Dale Jr Foundation and Nationwide Children's Hospital through our sponsorship of the Driven to Give event," Nationwide Dir of Sports Marketing Jim McCoy wrote in an e-mail. "It is a special evening where Dale is able to help a lot children in need with donations from the NASCAR industry. "
