Chambers Bay Dir of Sales & Marketing and Assistant GM Jamie Fay died yesterday "after a tree fell onto his moving station wagon" in a weekend storm in Washington state. He was 36 years old (Tacoma NEWS TRIBUNE, 8/31).

Former MLBer and Montreal Baseball Project President Warren Cromartie, will be in Boston this week to meet with incoming Red Sox President Sam Kennedy and team ownership. Cromartie is trying to get the Red Sox to "commit to some exhibition games in Montreal" (BOSTON GLOBE, 8/30).

Sony Pictures has released the official trailer for "Concussion," a film due out in theaters Dec. 25 about the NFL and head injuries starring Will Smith. The trailer first appeared on THE MMQB (THE DAILY).
