Laugh Track....Deflation Effect

Comedian Louis CK appeared on CBS’ “Late Show” last night where he and host David Letterman discussed the Patriots Deflategate controversy. The comedian noted he was from Boston and a Patriots fan, with Letterman asking, “Why are they so oily?” Louis CK: “Well, because they want to win real bad. So sometimes you do stuff that's not fair so that you can win. I have no problem with it. I think it's hilarious. Why not? It's a stupid football game. Just deflate the balls, poke a guy in the eye or whatever. It's football” (“Late Show,” CBS, 1/26).

Texans DE J.J. Watt appeared on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” last night and discussed the Pro Bowl. Watt said of approaching the game as a serious contest and being named MVP, “Well, the defensive MVP gets a truck, so yes, I took it very seriously. I wanted the truck.” Host Jimmy Kimmel said, “You have like a $100 million contract and you still wanted the truck.” Watt relied, “I’d like to keep the $100 (million) if I could” (“Jimmy Kimmel Live,” ABC, 1/26).

Meanwhile, Kimmel said of Winter Storm Juno: “Blizzard warnings were issued from the Jersey shore all the way up to Maine. New York is expected to get as much as three feet of snow and I can’t even imagine how small the footballs are going to be deflated in New England. … Jay Glazer of Fox Sports is reporting that the NFL has identified a ‘person of interest.’ A Patriots locker room attendant supposedly took balls from the officials’ locker room, and instead of bringing them right to the field, brought them to Bill Cosby’s house. I love that we’re using the term ‘person of interest,’ like this was a terrorist attack. This is about air in some balls” ("Jimmy Kimmel Live,” ABC, 1/26).
