NBC Sports Launching New Microsite For Long-Form Content

NBC Sports Digital today will debut "NBC SportsWorld," a new microsite within NBCSports.com devoted to long-form content. Anchored by columnist Joe Posnanski, “NBC SportsWorld” will include features, columns, essays and video documentaries, such as NBC’s “Nancy & Tonya” on figure skaters Nancy Kerrigan and Tonya Harding and Golf Channel’s “Arnie” on Arnold Palmer. The microsite will include content from NBC’s national staff as well as material from its RSNs, SportsTalk blogs and Golf Channel.

NBC Sports Group Senior VP & GM of Digital Media Rick Cordella said, “We take a lot of pride in our long-form storytelling, but we really haven’t had a good place to house all that great content, and a lot of it was getting lost. We think this will be a big plus in surfacing that great content and helping with discovery.” “NBC SportsWorld” will be ad-supported, and Cordella said the net is marketing presenting sponsorships.
