Chiefs Fans Break World Record For Crowd Noise At Outdoor Stadium

Chiefs fans last night "broke the Guinness Book of World Records mark for crowd noise in an outdoor stadium" during their win against the Patriots at Arrowhead Stadium. A Guinness rep "registered a level of 142.2 decibels in the second quarter to break the record." The previous mark of 137.6 decibels was set last December during a Saints-Seahawks game at CenturyLink Field (ESPN.com, 9/30).

ESPN's Steve Levy noted the atmosphere last night and said Steve Young, Ray Lewis and Trent Dilfer, “three crusty NFL veterans” who “have been everywhere,” were “genuinely excited by the atmosphere here in Kansas City.” Levy: “My first visit here, really cool, a real credit to Kansas City." Dilfer said, "This place is awesome" ("SportsCenter," ESZPN, 9/30).
