ESPN Issues Apology For Report On Michael Sam's Shower Habits

ESPN this morning issued a brief statement apologizing for a "SportsCenter" report on the Rams that mentioned DE Michael Sam's locker-room shower habits. It states, "ESPN regrets the manner in which we presented our report. Clearly yesterday we collectively failed to meet the standards we have set in reporting on LGBT-related topics in sports" (ESPN).

ESPN's Josina Anderson during yesterday's report said, "Another Rams defensive player told me that, quote, 'Sam is respecting our space,' and that from his perspective, he seems to think Michael Sam is kind of waiting to take a shower as not to make his teammates feel uncomfortable" ("SportsCenter," 8/26).
