"Festive" 60,000-Plus On Hand For ManU-Inter Milan At FedExField

A crowd of 61,238 attended the Manchester United-Inter Milan Guinness Int'l Champions Cup match at FedExField, where the "scene before kickoff was light and festive." Ticket holders in the upper deck were "allowed to move closer at no extra charge," and "some said they received free tickets." The stadium is "not an ideal soccer venue," and it "added to the list of shortcomings with a pregame video-board message stating United's home stadium is 'Old Traddord'" (WASHINGTON POST, 7/30).

Meanwhile, ManU is "scheduled to visit the White House today" (LONDON TIMES, 7/30).
