MLB To Break Tune-In Ads During All-Star Game Telecast On Fox

MLB will break its annual postseason tune-in campaign during Fox' telecast of tomorrow's 85th All-Star Game from Minneapolis. The creative work from BBDO, N.Y., employs the new tagline "October Writes Itself," and is a video montage of postseason action. "We're starting the drumbeat to the second half to emphasize the hope and faith that's there for more fans than ever," said MLB Chief Marketing Officer Jacqueline Parkes. There will be social media and mobile extensions of the campaign later this week, and MLB rightsholders are expected to develop their own versions, using the same creative theme. BBDO assumed the lead creative and branding role for MLB earlier this year.

Also showcasing new creative on the All-Star Game telecast will be MLB sponsors Pepsi, Target, and MasterCard. A-B will update the Zelig-like "Always There" MLB history spot from earlier this season. MasterCard has tweaked last year's "Rivals" spot.
