Red Sox Line Up Championship Presentation For Home Opener

The Red Sox today will host their home opener against the Brewers, and the game for the third time in 10 years will include "the raising of a World Series banner and the presentation of championship rings." The opener also will include a moment of silence in memory of Lt. Edward Walsh and firefighter Michael Kennedy, who lost their lives last week battling the Back Bay fire. After last year's Boston Marathon bombings, "Fenway Park was transformed into a place both to mourn the victims and celebrate the heroes" (BOSTON HERALD, 4/4). Players will wear "special jerseys" marking the World Series championship. Pregame ceremonies begin at 1:00pm ET ahead of the 2:05pm game (BOSTON GLOBE, 4/4).

Red Sox DH David Ortiz will be tweeting today on @MLB, @RedSox and @davidortiz from 8:30-10:30am to "take fans behind the scenes with #PapiAllAccess" (MLB.com, 4/4).
