Late-Night Hosts Expect Meryl Davis, Charlie White To Dominate "DWTS"

ESPN's Keith Olbermann last night said he turned down an opportunity to appear on the latest season of ABC's "DWTS," which begins March 17. He said on his nightly ESPN2 show, “I can reveal tonight for the first time that yes, I was approached this year. Now, I won the 7th grade dance class, so why would I risk besmirching that title?" ("Olbermann," ESPN2, 3/4).

Several late-night talk show hosts last night discussed the latest “DWTS” cast, with ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel saying, “They got some good ones this year.” Kimmel: “Olympic Gold Medalists Meryl Davis and Charlie White – you know they’re ice dancers, but will they be able to make the transition from ice to the ground? Yes they will, they will crush everyone” (“Jimmy Kimmel Live,” ABC, 3/4). NBC’s Jimmy Fallon said, “Meryl Davis and Charlie White are also joining the cast of 'Dancing With The Stars' and they've already won. They're Gold Medal-winning dancers, on ice. Imagine what they are when they're not slipping. It is like, ‘I don't understand the rules of this show’” (“The Tonight Show,” NBC, 3/4).
